Take the wishbones into college... the bushes won't take two seconds to push out :y

Rear donuts need a hammer, chisel and pry bar to liberate...

Polys simply push in with a bit of copperslip :y

Thanks Taxi... i'll see what they say as they normally let the kids take their cars in and do work on them so with a bit of luck they'll let me.. hell, I've borrowed most of the tools at some point or another  ::) ;D

With the rear donuts.... do I need to take the centre bolt out I assume?

You can leave it in, but you'll never get the plate off or the bush out ::)

are there any hidden bolts or just that centre one? so bolt out, pry down, pop bush out, new one in, button up?  :)

ignore that... found chris's helpful guide  :y

seems a lot of potential problems getting them out if they haven't completely failed.....I take it you cant simply cut them out with Mr Stanley? i.e. just keep hanging away at them til they're nothing other than shreds of rubber?

Nope. They have a substantial metal insert moulded into the bush. You may well get the centre out, but that's of no use at all.

This is an awkward job tbh. Even if the bush is in good nick. If it's separated they have to be dug out with a stick/pry bar/hammer and chisel/claw hammer, what ever you have that gives leverage or folds the outer body in on itself.

...although I prefer a baring puller with the centre bolt refitted, this doesn't work if the bush metal is rusted as it just folds up, the baring puller pops off and the bush doesn't move.

Why do I have a feeling we changed yours though...? You did say the rubber bump stop didn't move, so that would imply the rear donuts are ok, no?

I remember doing rear springs in yours defo. Other than that.... :-\

Thanks Chris.

no it was definitely just rear springs and shocks :)

the creaking is from rear and front. I can tell when front wheels go over a speed hump and creak.... then the rears go over and creak also.

but as said silicone spraying them (front and rear) got rid of the noise in its entirety.
