LPG common wire
« on: 13 December 2013, 20:11:33 »

My stag loom has come without piggy back connectors!

It's no drama but I will have to join the wires manually

My understanding is each petrol injector has a (negative?) common wire which I need to cut and join each end to the LPG loom

How is this wire id'd on each petrol, I'm guessing it will be the same colour on each one?

Yes, and it's not negative, it's positive, IIRC. Also no reason why you need to touch it. It's the non-common side of the injector that you need to cut. :y

Hi both, genuine thanks for clarification, now makes perfect sense :y

And of course it's the unique one that needs interrupting, otherwise the gas ecu wouldn't have a bloody clue ;D

Cheers again :y

On a side note, I wonder if stag are starting to cut corners with no piggy backs, or if I just got the really basic cheap nasty one!

Lastly... I will look at a wiring diagram when not on nights, but for neatness, how about following the injector wiring back and doing it all in the ecu box? Just a thought if anyone has done it before...

The neatest/most user friendly way is to do it at the injection loom plug :y

Just need to obtain a loom from a breaker, and add the plugs from second loom to the lpg loom. This makes it plug and play, and alot easier if anything needs removing for servicing/repairs :y

Doing it at the ecu doubles the wiring at that point and makes maintenance alot more time consuming...

Cheers al. The only thing is, from memory, the 4 pot doesn't have a separate injection loom, just v6, else I agree that's surely the best way.

Bloody 4 pots ;D
