2.2DTi Ongoing issues....
« on: 28 December 2013, 13:57:14 »

I'm sure most of you are aware about the constant ongoing issues I'm having with my estate and the fact that it is boosting irregularly. It's been seen by two or three different mechanics using their own ECU reading laptops and a Vaux Com system, The latter was obviously slightly better than a generic system and identified two possible faults being the mass airflow meter and the boost vacuum pressure sensor on the inlet manifold - which have both been replaced with genuine Vauxhall parts.

The EML has only been on three or four times since I got the car off of James and has only ever registered the faults with the airflow meter which has since been replaced

The entire vacuum pipe system has been renewed with new silicone hoses including all new solid plastic joints and bends, it's also been fully serviced including oil and all filters with all genuine Vauxhall parts.

I'm being very stubborn and I refuse to throw the towel in with the car as it is in a very good condition and when the turbo does kick in it picks ups speed really well and I'm very pleased with the car overall it's just this one niggerly issue that is frustrating me as it's probably something very simple!! The only thing that hasn't been changed is the Vac pump and I'm due to test the vacuum strength on Monday....

Could it be an ECU problem? I'm actually contemplating booking it in with Vauxhalls to see if they can shed any light on the problem but obviously discussing the issue with them first so I might be out to get a set cost for the diagnosing.

Any Tech 2 volunteers fancy a challenge in possibly sorting this issue out in exchange for beer tokens....?  ;D

Any thoughts, comments or suggestions?

I was yes. You probably won't get an intelligible answer now, so I won't respond until morning.

And as of today the only element not replaced was the vacuum pump, this has now been done and the problem still persists!   :(

Last thing now is to get the vacuum pressure measured and see if any issues lie there....
