Bought a Scooter for youngest step son, great deal on ebay.
Now then, it comes in a crate, needs some putting together, not a problem but I will be supplied with tax and a Reg number when they come back from DVLA, no panic he has not even applied for his driving licence yet ‘cos there is no point, I am not getting a scooter’


Anyway I have to put this together and then it is fit for the road, no test of any sort, it is legal but seems a bit strange, what if someone does not really know how to do it safely, putting their child and others at risk.

I am not complaining but seems odd to me that this can be done, when even kit cars have to have a test, I believe.

I asked Brother in Law the same thing as he was on about buying one off flea bay for around £400 new.

That's true LK but then put together by a dealer, they did say that they would do this for me but wanted £40.00 and then deliver cos it would not have fitted in my car.
Was your brother in law buying from a company in Thornaby, by any chance.
I bid for this, not through buy it now and got it for £461.99 taxed and registered, they look really good, can't be robbed at that.
A year ago I bought him an off road bike, came in a crate 110cc mini moto £170.00 delivered, identical to a Honda, a year on he says one of his mates want's to buy it for £200.00.

i can't remember the name of the Company but can ask him... i just thought it was really cheap for a scooter, it wasn't a name i had ever heard of like Honda, Yamaha etc though

Neither is this, Chinese imports but based on the more well know brands such as Honda or Yamaha, which I believe this to be.
Don't really care at the price, we have a situation of disposable bikes.
A Honda Scooter is about £2.5 k and will loose £1k, at least over the first year, I could get half my money back in the same period, at least.
