I've got a Galaxy Ace with a cracked screen. A number of these little mobile phone shops offer a repair service so was going to pop in and get it done when I'm next in town.

I'm a bit nervous about leaving the phone with a total stranger for the 15 mins or so needed, but would the PIN code be sufficient protection to avoid "access" into the Phone? There is no data on the phone - but obviously access to email etc.

As an option, I guess there is the DIY approach:

Different phone, but I did my daughters Galaxy S3 Mini .. bought the bits off ebay for £60 ish, followed the video off uTube.. took less than an hour and that was walking to and from the computer to watch then pause each step. New screen/digitiser/frame .. all working perfectly again ..

No.

Fairly easy, and there are plenty of guides on the likes of YouTube.
