Just wondering if anyone here has gone down that route  :)

I don't have a TV and watch what I want to see on my laptop via Catchup services.  I don't have a TV licence.  :)

I have wondered what would happen if the TV licence man came knocking.  ::)  Would they seize my laptop for examination to see if I've been watching live TV?  :-\

I don't have a TV licence, have no equipment connected to receive live TV and although I could watch on catch up I can't be bothered as I'm either working, on the Internet doing something more interesting or reading a good book. I've never been much of a TV person and nor is my wife.

I do miss the occasional football match and MotoGP but that is about it and I definitely don't miss the BBC's marxist, climate change agenda or all those annoying adverts. I can't see the way TV is going to evolve on how the TV licence is going to be a sustainable model.

What you might see with TV on demand is a choice of paying with no adverts and cheaper / free with adverts where I'm sure there will be many market models from the next generation of direct content providers is much the same way as there are many revenue models in the computer games market. Interesting times lie ahead in this market, where the in demand content providers will be king, not the transmission medium owners like present.
