Personally, I've had excellent service from VW; Chris :y

Quite like the Amorok, though a Tiguan's on our shopping list! ;)

Would have thought a Toyota Hilux or a Mitsubishi L200 would be a better bet :-\ if towing, bigger is better wrt engine choices :y

I know a chap currently running a 2.5td Nissan Navara, which struggles with a loaded trailer. His next truck will be a 3.0...

The D40 goes quite well when chipped..........allegedly.......... even with a caravan on the back.  ;) :-X

Ranger is bouncier on the back when unladen, whereas the Nav is quite a decent ride and better equipped. We have a Nissan Navara Aventura Double-cab in the family and it is very well specced. Turning circle isn't great but hey ho it's commercial.  :)
Brother-in-law has a Ranger Thunder but he admits the Nav is the better ride unladen. The rear seats in the Ranger are very narrow and barely suitable for adults.

How about an F150.  ;) :y

No or very little towing required. Just load lugging and rough road work. :y

Gliding club have a Navara. I was quite impressed. Nice comfy interior, well equipped and performance was better than I expected. Had some foolery getting it into and out of 4x4 a few times (not just a lever in these, it's all electronics, and kept flashing funny errors at me), but no idea if there are common problems in that area. No experience of the others, though.
