The smaller engines can tow weight! My 2.2 petrol "can" tow an Austin princess (cheese you can drive), But you sure as hell know it's there. I have to agree with using the 3.0 or 3.2 as a tow vehicle, it would hurt your pocket I would imagine as far as fuel costs are concerned ... Towing the princess I get an average mpg of between 8 and 15 mpg so I wouldn't say the smaller engines are a feasible choice  and that I would imagine is the same for the diesel

A Princess towing - must have found a scrappy by now

Not to a scrappy ... My brother has 3 of them  :o  One is his daily driver a 1700 HL and one is provisionally sold and undergoing recomissioning 2000 HLS and the other is getting broken down to save the other 2 another 1700 HL  ... He's brave, stupid or both to run one daily but I love them and so does he  ;D
