The criteria changed, according to my old TC supplier, which was the reason that about 400 outlets got booted out last year  :'(

I'd assumed some dealers no longer met the criteria, due to the recession...?
No, the criteria changed, following a survey of those people who use TC

God its like getting blood out of a stone.

In what way did the criteria change, exactly?

According to the guy at Skurray's - who are definitely still TC but don't show on the TC website as members  :-\ :-\ - the required minimum "turnover" of TC parts was dramatically increased, in the region of a 4 fold increase... so they now have to push sales of bulk stuff every time you go in, in order to hit the targets..... only the "bigger" outlets can hit these targets and some of them still struggle.  It is now a standing joke between the guy and me .. he simply says ... "no point me trying to talk you into 50 gallons of oil or 100 wiper blades is there".. smiles, and logs in the ABS reference to get me the discounts .. I still get around 9% on non-TC parts as well..  :)

It was a bit more fundamental than that as there were was also requirments to have a minimum number of vans and personnel to support the Trade Club outlet.

The 2 reasons my old dealer gave were stock holdings and having to have at least 4 vans, in order to meet Tradeclub v2. I'm guessing there was other criteria, but these were the 2 mine said they couldn't achieve.
