Heater Blower Fan Unit
« on: 12 May 2014, 19:57:45 »

Have traced the noise I have had for a while from dash area down to the heater fan blower unit. >:(

Can this be removed just by taking out the glovebox assembly or is it necessary to remove the airbag ,as looks like motor body will foul the straight section of dash that glove box and footwell trim fits against.

Just need some advise please :y

Just the glovebox and cable tray behind glove box - needn't touch airbag at all :y

Great thanks.

Just looked like the normal Omega traight of trying to get "square peg out of a round hole "  ;D ;D ;D

Perhaps somebody has been there before me and damaged the fins on the blower fan unit  :(

Once the glove box and cable tray removed, undo the 3 torx screws holding the fan (one you have to do mainly by feel), and disconnect wiring from hedgehog (2 wires).  You need to waggle fan unit out between wiring loom and top "fitting" for glovebox - a bit tight but will come out ;)

Perfect Thanks again. :y

Will have a go at the 3 screws tomorrow and see what condition the fan fins are in although expect 1 or more are damaged causing the noise
