Locking kit hire?
« on: 15 June 2008, 15:16:17 »

Hi, I've read on here about hiring the V6 cam locking kit but didn't quite work out where from!

Can anyone quickly point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

If you are attempting yourself (which I would definately encourage), then I guess you could borrow mine :)

Hiya... if its not putting you out that'd be awesome thanks! I'd send a few quid your way for p&p obviously.

My mate (ex-mechanic) says he can do it but was on about just using tippex- no way! I'll be watching to make sure he uses the kit  ;D

Would have been great if you could have done it but just too far away

Many thanks

Tippex  :-?
Does he know it's a concentric idler setup?
Even if you get someone else to do it, get the DVD off this site, it's only three quid and at least you'll know if it's being fitted properly or not :y

I had a calibra done with tippex. By my 'mate' who is the village mechanic.  He has always done my cars (there has been a few  :y)  :then, when he asked me if the mig was belt or chain I asked on here................. I would never go near him and his cowboy outfit of a garage again. After having my cam belt done by someone who knows what they are doing ( :y) I questioned him on how he has done v6 timing belts...... the reply....... I guess  it! NO, NO, NO  :o :o :o
