Central Locking
« on: 02 June 2014, 17:23:10 »

Hi all,
The central locking has packed in only on the front nearside door.
The lifting tab is firmly in the down (locked) position and won't budge despite all attempts other than ripping the door panel off.
Is there any way to open this door? Perhaps by using a hand made tool such as a 'slim jim'? I've seen them on TV etc, but have no idea how to fashion one or indeed use one.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Porks

lower the window and place a rag over the button then grip it with a pair of mole grips or suchlike and pull hard upwards and it should pop up. sounds like you need a replacement solenoid in the central locking.

Your welcome, you may have more issues with it, either recondition the solenoid or replace with a known good one.
