2.2 cambelt and water pump change urgent help needed
« on: 19 September 2014, 22:29:08 »

hi everyone

please can someone please help me I have a 2.2cd petrol automatic on start up it is very noisy  but calms down after a little while also makes like a tapping noise under acceleration you can hear it when you pass obstacles. I have also noticed in my loads of service records that the timing belt was last changed in 2008. I know that these cars belts need to be changed every 40,000mls or 4 years whichever is sooner. it is now if the records are correct 6 yrs.

I really do not want to be cheeky but is there anyone on here that can help me. I need the timing belt and water pump changed urgently  as I am now terrified to drive it in case it goes. also where would I get a quality timing belt and water pump  from as Vauxhall want over £180.

If anyone has the parts or knows where you can get them cheap please let me know and anyone that can fit them for a fee

I know this sounds really cheeky but I do not intend it to be so honestly I am just desperate.  :'(

if anybody wants to help I live in Birmingham but will travel.

Many thanks.

I have decided to change my timing belt rollers , tensioner and the water pump.

please can somebody tell me what the torque settings will be to do the job and do you need to lock the crankshaft up.
if anyone knows where I could get a step by step guide I would really appreciate it.

the car is a 2.2 cd petrol automatic 2002

ps please forgive the last post I put on after reading it myself I realised how really out of order it sounds  sorry I wrote it while panicking.

I did a video for the 2.2 cam belt change about 8 years ago. It gives an insight  but it's not great as it was a bit rushed (we were battling with daylight)

Not a bad job to do though :y
