Any one got a good supplier contact for this kind of stuff.

Fitted some under Cabinet lighting from screwfix which wasnt exactly cheap. egay full of the stuff but i suspect low life and quality.

Seems a minefield, high price doesn't necessary seem to be quality.

We sell led bulbs at work.about £12.99 for a g9 bulb. I must have had 3 back last week due to them burning out 1 only after 1/2 hour ;D

We were told by our supplier that these were made in Holland as on the box it has a Holland flag. But written in tiny letters on the base of each bulb there are the words "made in P.R.C". Further investigation reveals that these are indeed made in China from crap materials ;D

So no matter how much you pay you just don't know what your getting :y

I heard that led hut arnt to bad or TP24 which I've seen these bulbs and are reasonably priced :y

Depends what sort of fitting you want....

I've bought these bulbs before from this seller on ebay

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4-8-10-X-GU10-MR16-4W-6W-8W-COB-LED-Spot-Light-Lamp-Bulbs-light-Warm-Day-White-/281316001088?pt=UK_Light_Bulbs&var=&hash=item417fbd8540

I bought 4 x 8w (warm white) ones to replace 4 x 50W halogens in the kitchen.
They imo are a good bulb the 8w variety are certainly brighter than the 50W ones they replaced  :y

Im just waiting for 4x 6W ones to turn up, for my bedroom....theres 4x 50W halogens on the ceiling at present, but I went for the 6W ones as I don't want it as bright as the kitchen is!

Kitchen ones I have been using for several months now, without issue  :y

Be warned tho, check the physical size of the bulb will fit the holder....if you compare the size of them against a halogen bulb, you will find the led ones are longer (higher the wattage, the longer they are)

If its Gu10 / Gu4 led replacements you need, keep a eye open when in Lidl or Aldi.

I've got a quartet of 4.5 amp Gu10's in the kitchen as a replacement for 4 x 50 watts and I can confirm that they are not just stupidly cheap to run but brighter too  :y
Cost 7 quid for 2 iirc
I've also got 4 Gu4 led replacement in the bog / bathroom.
If you are going for Gu4 replacements, make sure you have a LED compatible transformer fitted or you will end up leaving 1 halogen bulb in to drag the voltage down a little  ::) :-[

The problem with LED lighting is that you only find out how good they are after a month or two, when LEDs start failing if they are poorly matched. A lot of the stuff on sale currently is complete rubbish, but decent branded stuff can be very good.

Mine as above are excellent. My only advice is think carefully which brightness value you want, we have neutral in the kitchen, and warm white in the rest of the house. Ideal for us, but subjective choice. :y
