Toshiba smart tv
« on: 29 November 2014, 16:08:11 »

Looking for some help please. I have just treated myself to a new tv and was looking foward to the using the smart side. Anyway plugged it in and followed the screen instructions. Tv side works great with sky hd. Connected the internet side using wifi. But the smart side of the tv is still in the demo mode and when you try and go into settings it asks you to connect to the internet. Any ideas please as I have speny about 3hrs trying to fix this

Did you get as far as entering your wireless password when you connected it to the internet?

Yes mate as far as the wifi it shows on the tv that its all connected. Went onto my pc and it shows that the tv is connected with its own ip address. It seems to have been a issue over in the states last year, but I couldnt see how or if there repaired it.

Lots of people with similar issues going by what I found with a Google search.

This Toshiba page claims to have a fix http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=72362

It looks to me as though the standard error messages are pretty uninformative and may have spurious references to "demo mode" to throw people of the scent.......
