VW Passat 1.9TDI...hydraulic fluid?

Hi guys,

Got a reservoir on the right hand side near the N/S headlight that says ''hydraulic fluid - use mineral oil only''................... is this the PAS fluid? :-\

It reminds me the other day my daughter phoned me to ask where the washer fluid lived. She ended up showing me a video on her phone of under the bonnet while she pointed to stuff .......  :y :y

Does it have a DSG gearbox? Could be that, too (assuming they're anything like the BMW with a reservoir of highly specific fluid)

Power steering, but not the red stuff. As it says on the lid. If it does look red, best to replace with the proper stuff before seals give out.

The manual should specify exactly which hydraulic fluid is required...

Reading TFM is far too much effort.  ;D

It is the pas reservoir. Why not just say on the bottle?

You'll be expecting there to be a list of what each fuse does on the fusebox cover next!
