tbh tony for a 5-10 minute phone is it really worth it????

I agree Mark....I was not aware it could all be done online when buying another car....Insurance wise, I know my brokers number off by heart.
Does the owner have to claim back his tax before the new owner applies, or does it not matter.
Previous keepers tax comes out in the wash... automatically refunded (according tohow they paid) for any unused months :y

If you pay your tax by direct debit, you can just cancel it, job done.

Indeed :y

If you keep the car, it remains taxed to the end of the month, but you then must have either sorned, sold or retaxed it... :y

Same if you pay it outright these days. No real advantage to using direct debit. You can SORN the car and you'll get a cheque in the post for the remaining tax a couple of days later.
