On my recently purchased 2.6 saloon, one of the pollen filter retaining clips is broken off. It looks like it was part of the plastic case, made thin as a hinge. How is this best replaced?
I have a dead car with a good pollen filter holder. Are they easily switched?

Think they bolt through the bulkhead... Time for a torch and a mirror on a stick

Yes they are air design, as they snap off as you say. As a result I bend the the pollen filter in, rather than undo them. Which means the filter doesn't sit snugly, but the fan draft pulls it in.

No idea on replacement housing. ....bit of tape?

As the filter isn't visible with the scuttle in place, it does seem like a candidate for some duct tape. Use black for an unobtrusive 'professional' look

I recall one of the top clips snapping on mine with a poor fitting filter 

Managed to pop clip back and seat in place with hot glue gun

Its a pain in the back side to take out ( glove box,fan, air bag) just put a rubber band across the top to hold it in.

Who's to say the new housing won't go the same way?

Thanks for all the advice. I have bent some stiff wire into a loop that retains the loose corner perfectly well. It was a bad bit of design, with a thin section of plastic forming the hinge, bound to fail eventually.

You've got me thinking now - mine doesn't exactly sit in tight, always been a bit loose - as was the Turbo Weasel's. Perhaps both these had broken clips. That said, if they did it was without me noticing, and I'm a bit fastidious with these things. So if mine are broke too, safe to say they can be without any detriment to anything that I can see
