CDR2005 '03 Corsa
« on: 22 June 2015, 21:22:29 »

Hi guys looking to replace the CDR2005 in the '03 1.2 SXi Corsa I have just required.

The one installed won't turn on or do anything. I have removed it & checked the fuse on the back  . . .all ok :-\

MID  shows date , time outside temp,  but unit just does nothing when trying  switch on . no code request  . .nothing at all :-\ :-\

Purchased this car yesterday  for an absolutely crazy price  :P :P  so not worried the CD/radio does not seem to work . But called the seller today to confirm my

delight in the car & she said the CD / radio was working fine yesterday ::) ::)  So wondering if it's something silly :-[ :-[ :-[

Question are :  Anything I have stupidly overlooked  ::) ::)  & Can I just get used unit with it's code but without the display  & use the display that is there?

Battery has not been disconnected

TIA   Al  ;) ;)

I had a 2005 in my 2.2 when I first got it, the on button really needed a good hard press. Normal tap did nothing.

OK Tunnie,   will try that :y

Also noticed from the owners manual that there are severalfuses in the fuse box linked to the radio , so will  check that out later today.

Still need to know if I can just replace the HU  & still use exisiting info display though :-\ :-\

Nice to see another satisfied Corsa customer. :y

Has the seat on the drivers entry side, on the side collapsed yet? Never saw a SXi without the problem.

All the SXi's we looked at had that problem. There may well be scrappers about with a decent seat. They are more sporty than the standard seats. You might even be able to undo the stitching and put more padding in or just live with it! I don't know if standard seats are a straight swap. I guess they would be to save factory costs.

Best Corsa forum ? Well it has to be OOF. :y ;D I am a member of All Corsa and Corsa-C . They don't have as much activity as say OOF probably with Corsas being so reliable. Lots of posts about coilovers, blue tints, debadging. Best have a look for yourself.

I have changed two foams in SXi seats over the years, the later foams have additional strengthening around the metal loops that make up the side raised sections.

Seat removal is easy, cover removal is not to bad, foam removal is a pain in the arse with lots of steel loops to get off and then refit.

Replacement seat or a pair will be my first option . But of course that depends on whats available, if any  ::)

But handy to know they can be repaired :y :y
