A bit of google images searching and that picture turns out to be of the new Hellcat V8 in a Dodge Challenger, the correct home for a Mopar engine in ho-po orange.

Chrysler announced that its new "Hellcat" Hemi V8 will be SAE J1349-rated at 707 hp (527 kW) and 650 lb·ft (881 N·m) when it debuts

I'll take two!

Where does it mention anywhere in the above article that they are fitting MOPAR engines....?

4th picture down clearly shows a HEMI engine...?

MOPAR was essentially Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth.... not Chevy (even though they all had the same parent company with GM)

Mopar is Chrysler Dodge etc, one of the big 3 manufacturers. GM and Ford are the other 2. Mopar have never been part of GM.

That 4th picture down clearly shows a supercharged Hemi, but it's in a Hellcat, which the text mentions.

The Camaro uses a continuation of GM's LS series engines.

I always associated the word "hemi" with a cylinder head design that was rejected as a daft idea at about the same time as magnetos and starting handles. ::)

Still, wouldn't kick 707 BHP out of bed for f@rting. ;D

And I'm a general muscle car fan with a preference for Mustangs - always have been.  Given I don't want to hurl them around a race track, I'm generally Ok with 'adequate' handling of US cars, although I appreciate they are improving
That's not what you said earlier... ::)

Still, only 76 posts to go :-X
My earlier point was to sell more widely in Europe, US manufacturers need to improve their car's handling... From my personal perspective, it's not what motivates me given I drive to the rules of the road.  Also, I find that driving V8 american car make me drive slower.

There's been a rather nice black left-hooker kicking around that area for a few years. Very nice. :-*

There's a very smart white Camaro that lives in Horsham... Proportions are perfect for a bruising muscle car 8)

Having driven a 3.6 Cadillac STS,  with 286 brake, the V6 isn't the compromise that you might think.

Personally, I think V or straight 6 engines are a good compromise on performance, smoothness, fuel consumption, front end weight and handling dynamics. I would love to build an Omega with the 3.6L 420bhp bi-turbo GM unit with 8 speed auto. :y :y :y :y

had a 2015 mustang convertible as a hire car last two weeks in california,
I had the V6 it was gutless, about as fast as my 2.0 audi A3.
the handling was ok but not anything to rave about.

and the bloody autobox never knew what gear it wanted, up and down the cogs for no real reason,
2800 miles at an averave of 25mpg.

a few Yanks I spoke to raved about it,

30mpg to cruise about in a v6 mustang doesn't sound too bad (their gallon is quite a bit smaller than ours).. Still two cylinders short of the full set though  :y
