Whats more fuel efficient
« on: 13 July 2008, 19:43:19 »

What driving style will use less fuel, when coming down a long steep hill so as not to exceed 40mph?
1. change down into lowest gear poss and let the engine brake the car eg high revs.
2. use the brakes with engine ticking over, (subject to brakes not overheating).
It's more about the theory than whats 'kinder to the car's componants.
