Who pays?
« on: 21 February 2016, 20:22:48 »

When police are stopping-or attempting to-a "target" vehicle they are at times rammed,or are forced to do the ramming. So who then pays for the damage to police vehicles caused by this?Is it the driver of the vehicle being stopped?or does it come out of the tax payers pockets?Or A.N.other source?

Insurance or budget, depending on the specifics of the situation...

Hmg(police, fire, military, customs etc) self insure, that's why any government car that is involved in accident, doesn't show on data-base.and answer to the OP question is the tax payer pays :)

Why did I just know that it'd be us the tax payer that'd be coughing up? >:( Why don't they make the "bad guys" pay compensation in some way? After all it's their fault the damage is caused.

Where do I start, Baza? Because we live in a world where no one actually gives a toss is a short answer, listing the various reasons would only get my blood pressure up.
Prosecuting people costs money, locking them up costs money, collecting money costs money........so best just let them off, eh?

WHERE'S MY FICKIN GUN............ >:(

If they are that desperate to get away and not be stopped it would suggest they are unlikely to be driving legally ie uninsured or even have the means to pay for any damage they cause
So as well as paying for there benefits we will be paying to clear up the trail of destruction they leave behind  >:(
