I have a similar problem with my Samsung smart tv, it used to connect every time but now I have some right trouble trying to get them to pair using the `cast` function on my phone (Nexus 5)
Once it has been done the tv is supposed to remember the phone but doesn`t at all, I think it might have been an update that caused it because it used pair faultlessly every time.

I tend to use my bluray player now for casting the screen as this works every time.

I used to love sorting problems like this, I now find myself getting stressed and pi**ed off so easly.  I admit that technolgy is changeing for the better, the sad thing that all the new technolgy doesnt allways come the idiot proof instructions.

All a sign that I am getter older but not wiser.  ::)

I find it frustrating when something used to work flawlessly and then doesn`t  :-\

It`s like my tv has developed Alzheimer's and has no memory of my phone whatsoever and I just sruggle to get them to talk to each other,. where as on the other hand I have no problem connecting to my Sony bluray player.

Just get a dumb TV and save yourself the aggro.

All smart TVs will be on the scrap heap in a couple of years anyway. Casualties of the combination of insecure, half-baked firmware, no proper patching and permanent internet connectivity. ::)

Please explain to an old fart the reason for wanting to do this? I have the same items, but cannot imagine why I would need it, no doubt I do, but just haven't discovered why. :-\

Well well, you live and learn. I just went in to the TV menu's to come up with some logical reason to connect my mobile to my TV and found that I can set my recorder remotely whilst away from the house. Didn't know it did that, although I suppose everybody else probably knew that years ago.   ::) ;D
I might have another fiddle to see what else it does.  ;D

I have PIR recording cctv and some time back I walked in to the sitting room to see an image of the cctv in a small area at the top right hand corner of the screen, while the TV program was still on the main screen. When the PIR kicked in it did it again so I asked my wife how she had managed to get the 'screen in screen' to work. Her reply was " I don't know, I sat on the remote and it just appeared.  ;D

If my wife sat on the remote we'd never get it back. :(
