Dash Temp Gauge not working - HELP !!
« on: 08 April 2016, 17:47:55 »

My dash temp gauge has stopped working.

The car is running fine, so I'm assuming that the connector has come off the dashboard sensor and not the ecu sensor, as it was working until a friend was fiddling under the bonnet.

Does anyone have a diagram or pic of the general vicinity of where i can find the sensor.

I know it is at the back of the engine on the right, but need to know if there are any helpful landmarks to help me find the said sensor.

Engine is Z22XE.

Any help will be gratefully received.

At the back of engine, to the left of the EGR valve put your hand down and you'll feel the harness.  The dash sensor and ECU sensor are next to each other.

If you earth the temp gauge sensor wire with the ignition on the gauge should go to the hot position at least this will tell you if it is the sensor.

Usually spade connector "slipped" off "button" - just reconnect it.  Its not a brilliant way to make an electrical connection - may be prudent to "tighten up" spade connector before refitting.

SORTED.

As suggested, the spade connector HAD detached itself form the sensor.

All happy again now :-)

Thanks everyone for your input..
