Why the hell does it matter? Women dye their hair routinely and nobody comments; this is just the anti-Boris brigade looking for more ammunition and dyed or not, it doesn't affect his ability to do his job.

I don't honestly think that anyone is using this to have a go at him, certainly not me. It's just a bit of fun, even he treats it as such. I think he did a damn good job as London mayor  :y

So now . . . . all turns out to be the press being stupid or something.

I agree, Mister Rog; politics should be about the good things Boris has done, like correcting Ken's Kock-Ups when he was Mayor. In fact, most of his policies during his tenure were on the money, with the exception of his stealing motorists' paid-for road space and dedicating it to cyclists. The free-loadsers don't even use their specially created lanes most of the time anyway.
The money wasted on that vandalism could have been more beneficially spent on repairs and sensible congestion easing - NOT by means of Congestion Zone charging.
Returning to "the hair": Boris clearly uses it as a trade mark as I've read that before TV interviews and the like, on his way to the cameras after Wardrobe had carefully prepared his hair, he tousled it into his usual untidy haystack, so he is well aware of the image of himself that he wishes to portray!
