I wouldn't mind so much if the road fund licence was actually spent on roads.

I think the government know they will be out next time so don't really care what people think about their policies in the next couple of years.  Dangerous times ahead..

None of this retrospective roadtax increase stuff has any ecological merit at all - its just a revenue raising exercise in green clothes >:(

Isnt everyone getting just a little fed up getting ripped off left right and centre by this crappy government .... and its not just cars either ... when will the tax for just breathing come in ??? >:(

The "Beatles "Taxman" lyrics seem more appropriate now than ever before!

Let me tell you how it will be
There's one for you, nineteen for me
'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman

Should five per cent appear too small
Be thankful I don't take it all
'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah I'm the taxman

If you drive a car, I'll tax the street,
If you try to sit, I'll tax your seat.
If you get too cold I'll tax the heat,
If you take a walk, I'll tax your feet.

Don't ask me what I want it for
If you don't want to pay some more
'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman

Now my advice for those who die
Declare the pennies on your eyes
'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman
And you're working for no one but me.

It seems that the government has no interest in winning the next election. Pity. :( :(

why don't we all club together , buy an island somewhere off the coast...

declare independence, and then get diplomatic immunity for not paying our road tax?

this news persuades ,me that I may as well buy a newer Miggy sometime....    (although the interiors are crap in comparison to my late mini facelift elite) since My RFL is going to go up as well.....

so there's a silver lining for someone, as and when I feel the need for a new car.

You are probably the one person who could!

I think they should bring in MOT's for caravans and trailers.....passed ANOTHER one this morning where the wheel had fallen off !.

The final part of the test could be for fire resistance....

Can they stand being torched with a flame thrower for 1 hour  ;D

We have to carry out a similar test for telecoms equipment sold in the USA called NEBS......one test involves drilling a small hole and inserting a blo torch and whilst measuring the height of the exiting flames!
