My dad said it was from Spain. Wouldn't surprise me. They have thousands of acres of plastic greenhouses in Almeria (have a look on Google earth outside  Adra) where they grow food stuff for North Europe in poor conditions.

We went and had a walk around one about fifteen years ago and were quite shocked to find a North African family living in a shanty deep inside. They obviously had water but no sewage. Spain had a case last year where salad leaves had been washed in water that was contaminated with waste water.
