Volvo Trade Card/Discount
« on: 25 July 2008, 01:28:13 »

My Mate has a 52 Plate S70 Volvo, Seems he has to have work done something to do with the timing.

The car had been dealer mainted, but when he was told the parts alone were going to be nearly £300 he changed his mind on Volvo doing the work.

I was telling him about the Trade Club Membership and was wondering if anyone knew of anything similar for Volvo owners. or forums to join where they could help him out.

TIA   :y :y

Just seen this thread for the first time!

Only yesterday I was talking to a man in the car trade who up until recently had always bought brand new Volvo's.  However his garage had changed ownership to Limpscombes, a main Volvo dealer down here in the south-east at least.  His first STANDARD service with them, and now the last, worked out to be £600! ::) ::) ::) ::)  When he complained and explained he was a long term Volvo customer they said they would give him 10% discount!  >:(  You can imagine what he told me that he had told them to do!!!!
 :o :o :o ;D ;D ;)

.............and we thought Vx dealers could be expensive! ::) ::)

My dad has a V70 and the main dealer service bills are unbelieveable. They do things like vac out and re-gas the air con at a major service, whether it needs it or not.

There's a hell of a markup on the fluids they put into it too. Either that or it takes double the quantity of any other car. :o

Even charged for an ECU update done as part of a recall IIRC.

My mum and dad have been driving volvos for as long as I can remember and they were given a £600 service bill one year.  They were furious with them and have never been back since.  Fairly common with volvo dealers I'm afraid.
