I assume you have STAR to programme all this stuff in ?
Indeed, not quite full access, but it's a Toughpad with 2023 DAS/Xentry  and a third party pass through box. I might upgrade the pass through to a genuine C5 unit along with newer software at some point, but it gets most things done :y
What you have is probably nearly as good as it gets on that age car anyway :y

Paging DG,

Saw this on my C&C roundup email, immediately thought of you  ;D

Auction Linky

I think I'd have to have it wrapped though, or possibly start a wedding car business...

It's a pretty rubbish advert though...

No seat ventilation, Distronic, Night Vision or panoramic roof. The only Designo thing about the interior are the floor mats. MoT history is, um, interesting and makes the lack of service history more suspicious. That said it does look exceptionally clean.

Rear entertainment and the fridge are pretty rare and it doesn't have the ABC suspension which is good.

Be interesting to see what it actually ends up at ..

I'm always drawn to not-three-litre-diesel-airport-taxi-spec saloons when they pop up, they usually have interesting backgrounds.  8)

It would be interesting to chat with the person that ordered it.

12. Sunblinds for rear side windows - electric.

Does exactly what it says on the trim.

Basically, door card off and strip armrest/ashtray/switch panel from it. Remove window frame trim. Fit rivnutsto secure the blind assembly. Fit blind assembly and plug in. Fit correct window frame trim. Fit armrest/ashtray/switch panel to correct door card... They're different to allow for the blind assembly. Refit door card. Program door control module for option 297.

Basically 3 screws for the door card, 8 screws for the armrests etc and 7 bolts and rivnuts each side for the blinds.

An easy couple of hours if you have the parts in front of you.

Items required:

Mounting hardware, new; £25.00.
Blind assembly L and R, used; £100.00 ea, £200.00.
Door cards L and R, used; £114.00 ea, £228.00.
Window frame trims L and R, used; £20.00 ea, £40.
Blind frame to window sweep fill panel L and R, used; £50 ea, £100.

Factory option cost: £520.00.

Total cost: £593.00.

Saving: £-73.00.

Loving the man maths.  ;D
Leaving aside the fun & satisfaction of sourcing and fitting the parts - how much would it have cost to buy a car with all that stuff already onboard compared to how much youve spent, including buying the car in the first place ?

That's a fair question. Listed below are the closest spec wise to where I am at specification wise:

£7,975 https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202409264532972

£9,500 https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202509076126635

£9,978 https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202506183632969

£9,995 https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202510117072160

Then you're into £12,000+ and even the three examples above are not without issue or lacking options that mine had from the factory, notwithstanding what I have added. And as nice as a twin turbo V12 would be... one for the £6k I paid for mine would have been insanity. And it would still be LWB with ABC and neither are things I wanted.

So to answer your question, could I have bought my car as it sits for £12k? No.

The only choices are order it new, modify it or compromise. So there we have it...  :y

Whether it is worthwhile or not is subjective, but it's a somewhat moot point. Wheels and windscreen and then it's pretty much there. Oh and the fridge gubbins if I can find them.

Which wheels are you looking for Al?

I've always liked the big monoblocs that some mercs get, not sure they're OEM for yours though.
