Building Regs.....
« on: 26 January 2017, 16:15:08 »

..... in Singapore require that a bomb shelter is built into a house!  :o  ;D

Who knew?  ???  ::)

I found out as I've recently been staying with friends who have recently moved there.  Their bomb shelter is underneath the house and is accessed via the garage, through a 4 inch thick steel door!  :)

It does make a handy shed though and I doubt anyone is going to nick my mate's mower!  :D  ;D

Its extends to more than just houses to!

They actually describe it as a household shelter (as its far from bomb proof) and most of the accommodation has them as store rooms or pantries.

I want one! Thousands of possible uses!

Homebrew Wine / beer / cheese cellar.
Man cave.
Darkroom.
Personal EMC test chamber.
Retreat from nagging SWMBO.

Not in my mate's case I hasten to add as they don't have a maid, but apparently it's not uncommon!  ::)

My mate's bomb shelter is full of shite!  ;D

Israel is more or less the same except that one of the bedrooms in the houses and flats are encased in steel and has a lockable heavy steel door.  :y
