Bristol Street TC offer
« on: 15 March 2017, 19:43:47 »

Got a TC flier from vx Monday. Normally keeps the inside of the bin warm. However summat caught my eye and I hear they've got loads in stock.......

I've wanted a set for ages but the prices I was looking at for Sealey equivalent were around 50 notes. However, this set....... £7+vat!!!!!!!

Ps, the make is Autogem. The only thing we use from them is the stick on wheel weights and the tyre jizm. So no idea on their quality. But can't really complain for that price  :y

They're pretty is what they are  :-*

But yeah they're 17, 19 and 21mm impact sockets for removing wheel nuts but with the plastic covers to protect nice alloys.

A ghetto alternative is a load of electrical tape wrapped round your normal impact socket.  :y

Don't they do the complete set? Black for the common 27mm(most 4x4s and large vans), and green for the 15mm. Yes, I have one. Yes, I have used it, but not on a wheelnut.

The different colours are a nice idea, but the plating doesn't last long; my 17 and 19mm sockets now look very similar. The 21mm is still red, as Toyotas and Hondas seem to be fitted with more reliable tyres than other marques ;D

The only deviant from 17, 19 and 21 that I get my paws on is the insignia with its stupid 22mm nuts. We rarely get anything other.

Our old tow truck had 27mm nuts. However it needed a 27mm socket welded (by me   ::)) to a ten foot pole to break the loose  ;D luckily that POS got sold  :y

On an aside there's a lovely set that come with torque sticks that I may now purchase having saved heaps on this set  :-X

Now you tell me, I must have had the socket nearly 10 years. But then, Smarts don't carry a spare so punctures were always a straight recovery.

Yes got a set of those, well Clark ones, certainly didn't pay £50 for them but a little more than £7.

They're looking a bit battered now due there use on all our cars.

Yeah bizarrely I looked at the price of a generic sealey set and saw they're 29 squid. Maybe I was thinking of the set with the torque sticks  :-\

Still 7 ain't bad!
