Thanks but where are these ''superbargain'' miggies? :D

Ebay is full of them,!!!
Kate, you worry me  :( there are no 'superbargin cars' for £200 or so that are not going to be full of trouble, that is why they are that price. Yes there are the odd exception but these will be 80's Datsun's.

Please please do not buy a car without the assistance of OOF

I would fully endorse Mike's advice, and just add that if you cannot afford more than £200 for buying a miggy I would think very seriously if you can afford to run one! :-/

Sorry to be blunt, but they are NOT cheap cars to maintain or run and a very low limited budget is not compatiable with an Omega of any age. ;) ;)

Thanks Lizzie, you are so right.

I'm really really old though so insurance is low low low and I only drive
2 miles a month so petrol costs are negligible.

I also have a 'tax in post sign' ;D

Well all that certainly does keep the running costs down Kate!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)

If only eh!
 :D ;)

But of course just like your avatar, nothing is real!! ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

Someone got a bargain with the one Elite Pete has just sold, every job you can think of was done on it..
The problem is, it was bought by a young lad interested in drifting :'(

I have kept a log for all 3 miggies that I've owned, including expenditure.

Its quite an eye opener how the bills mount up, and pretty obviously there will be a lot more of them on a 200 quid shed than a well sorted vehicle.   Even more so if its a garage doing the work vs DIY.

Kate - I think you need to consider this when looking at these bottom end of the market cars.   Even if you only do low miles, it still needs to be kept running, Mot'd etc,  and I think even conservatively you should plan on several hundred quid a year maintenance plus tax/insurance.   Better to be realistic in advance. :y

Good luck!
