New front RH shock absorber GM 9192250 wanted!
« on: 18 December 2024, 19:48:09 »

A bit of a long shot possibly - I am in need of a new (old stock) RH front shock absorber. GM part no. 9192250.
On the original label on the strut tube, it will only have a production no. 9127832 with the ident letters RM rather than the actual part number.
New only please - needed to make a matched pair with a new LH.
If anyone has one lurking in their 'parts stash', please pm me.
TIA

Yes, that Ebay shocker has been on for ages Chris. It appears to be for an early car - also EPC states LHD, bad road package, not for increased payload except police vehicles, and vehicles with air con... the EPC is a bit of a minefield to sift through but when you whittle it down it's not too bad. Just not sure really of the need for all the listed variations, but someone with better qualifications than me obviously saw the necessity for all the differences.
I could go for that one Chris, but as its not urgent, I'll wait to see what turns up. I'd prefer a new matched pair to ensure the damping was equal on both sides. But cheers anyway :y

As luck would have it, bit of Googling last night located the correct shock absorber (9192250) in France - complete with the mounting kit (strut to hub bolts)
A new old stock genuine GM item at what I thought was a bargain price of 41 euros (£34) including Tracked Signed For Delivery! Hopefully now sorted so mamy thanks anyway :y

i am curious to know the difference with the new one on ebay its obviously a different part number due to it being double bracketed ( non sided) but im sure i once read on here that the damping rates  on all were the same just different springs as req but it would make sense that a 2.0 would be damped different to a v6 (or mv6 for that matter )
be nice to know for future reference
and for that matter the physical difference if any from omega A  versions (different mount bracket or  much more ?)

The part number is as much to do with the fact that the fittings are  included.

The only difference between shocks is the wiring bracket number and orientation and whether the car is an LSC chassis or MV6 or Sport instead of standard.
