Xenon headlight level diagnosis via laptop

Afternoon strangers. Had a sudden rush of energy to get Zeke back on the road so I'm working through the list of jobs.

Headlamp aim light has been intermittently coming on and off and is now just on, and as much as I appreciate the warm amber glow it's a tad irritating.

I expected to find one or both arms detached but both appeared to be in place and moving freely. If I borrow a tame forum member and his laptop, will it be able to tell me where I should be looking for a wiring/ plug fault or indeed whatever else is causing the issue?

Possibly a broken adjuster... As they bounce it knocks the relative position of the motor.

Borken adjuster easy to test for - remove a bulb cover, and on the back of the bulb, see if it moves up and down easily (if you look from the front, you'll see the entire innards move). If so, thats pretty conclusive.


Not see a 3rd party method that allows diagnosis or live data of the headlamp levelling system, so dealer level only I suspect. Which on an Omega means Tech2

Update on this, AD (also of this parish) has a laptop running something ("My Naff Code Reader" I think) that talked absolutely fine to my car.

Points to the rear sensor having no power so that's to be investigated tomorrow. Probably a filthy plug or broken wire.
