Kents finest drive around in SKODAS and mway still use volvos
Has the police budget been cut in kent .. :-* :-*

I think they have just realised they can get a lot of car for the money with a Skoda... At the end of the day it's a VAG car so shares most parts with the VW/Audi equivalent. The main difference really is build quality and road noise etc...

.....and a great many of the estate versions Kent Police possess have devoped a horrible fault that when driven in reverse they give out a terrible groaning sound as though the rear suspension is about to drop off! ::) ::) ::)

They are extremely nimble and display good road holding when at speed answering 999's! :y :y

There was a huge crash (flipped cars 'n everything) on the front of my local rag... and a marked W-reg Omega behind all the carnage!

Didn't think they kept 'em that long!?

tagged on to the back of a renault scenic, late on the way to work 5.45am, he was doing about 90 so i just sat there, over taking traffic that was in lane 2. Then no traffic and he didnt move over so i flashed him once quick time, nothing rude, no response, flashed twice and he slowly moved over.
I pressed on to banning speeds, empty motorway nothing about. Pass a junction or 2 slow down for a
bit of traffic and round the bend behind me, with red and blue lights, comes... The Renault scenic!
I pull to lane 2 immediately and wait at 70 hoping hes on a shout. Nope. Its all for me. Pulls along side
Waves his hand in downwould motion to say slow down and buggers off.
Dont think he was traffic as he had dark blue jump suit and black vest of some sort. Maybe armed response at heathrow? Certainly not your usual unmarked plod car.

I think you are right Chris, is was an unmarked car belonging to one of the police branches, or maybe another 'agency' :y :y

You were lucky, as I have been on a number of occasions, and he was either not in a position of dealing with a speeding motorist; he did not have a calibrated speedo or any other speed recording equipment, or if from another branch he just was not interested but just wanted to give you a bit of a fright!! ::) ::) ::)

All the best! :y
