Searching for where to say 'Hello'!
« on: 05 October 2008, 02:42:46 »

Call me thick but I've been struggling to find where to say hello in the newbies area.

Anyway thought I should register my interest in Omegas as I have had for the last 4 yrs an '03 2.2 Dti GLS estate (in Rubens Red) and it has been almost trouble-free to date; as far as I know it was the last Network Q ex-Vauxhall one in the country in this colour, had to go down to Hampshire to get it.

I am well pleased with it and have taken it from 9000 miles to the present 80,000. Only problem at the moment is that I realised driver's electric seat height adjustment has packed up so will have to sort that out in due course.  Paint quality not as good as previous 13-yr old Honda Accord but I really like the comfort, space and 40mpg fuel economy.

I also have a 1974 Alfa Romeo Giulia Super saloon (RHD) as a fair weather-only hobby car (wonderfully original but regrettably in a few mechanical pieces at present due to previous owner's neglect.)

Forgot to say my name is Paul and I originally found out about OOF when I was following another Omega estate on the Lincoln bypass that had an OOF sticker on the rear window!

Somebody tell me how we should pronounce our car's name: I think we should say 'Omigga' but everyone I talk to calls them 'Omeegas'!

Bye for now - looking forward to any reactions to this message!

Hi and welcome.

Post a pic of your Rubens red car; I'd like to see what it looks like.

Welcome to the site :y, glad you have found us.

Everyone pronounces differently, but Omeeeeega seems to be the most popular around where I live.  Pronouciation matters little though :)

My old dad had a Guilia Super many moons ago .It was 1968 on an F plate .The 1600 twin cam engine was a peach and it had a 5 speed box even back in those days. A quick car for it's time. :y :y
