Omega Elite interior

Recently acquired a 2.5 Elite facelift and although a lovely car the interior is spoiled a little by the rubber coated fittings wearing out.

This is particularly obvious on the climate control panel and also the door trims where the window switches are located and the auto box gear shift area. I would like to replace them with either new ones or better still have chrome/some other type of metal fittings replacements.

Has anyone tried this or got any ideas? The new Insignia has just what I would like on the Omega.

It's an ongoing problem suffered by many ---- that rubber finish is horrible !!!!

If someone could come up with a solution they would be Omega Heroes  :D

It would appear to be a trait of GM, my mates American pick up has the same problem :(
