i think a call to citizens advice might be in order mate. from what i have searched. they cant take a minors dna without a court order. but another goes on to say that the police can use reasonable force to obtain a sample. personally i would tell them to get bent and worry about it later.

I do not blame the Police at all, I blame the stupid government.
Kris9128 offered some sage advice which I have followed and thought it would be wise to remove the original post.

The basic jist of it is the authorities are going to take the DNA of a 15 year old for a minor offence, of which an adult would of just have been told to go home.

The basic uspshot is that they can use reasonable force to extract a DNA sample from someone, so much for human rights.
Yes if he was a murderer, rapist etc. I would fully agree, but this is just a cynical attempt by the government to get every male person on the DNA register.

Annoyed and angry.

Mike

P.S. I no the last bit sounds sexcist, but the young girl who did exactly the same last week, and then went on to vandalise a door was just sent home by the police.  >:( My son did not hurt anyone or any property,(he only made himself very ill) and he is arrested. Double standards I think.

My son had his dna taken when he was 15 (9 years ago) I asked plod if they were certain that they were within their rights to do this and they said "absolutely, there is an easy way or a hard way,but we will take it regardless". I think its f*cking outrageous. >:( >:( >:( >:(

And in England, as said above, they keep the DNA even if subsequently found innocent.  >:(
