Never experienced being locked out a running car, fortunately.  Have, however, experienced someone driving away with the car and the house keys on the car key ring and me stranded on the doorstep in the p!ssing rain, looking like a drowned rat...

Now, house keys in one pocket, car keys in the other, so never the twain shall meet....   :D

I locked myself out of the works van a few times...in the end i got very adept at removing the small quarter light window on the merc sprinters...Always seemed to happen in the early hours of mornings for some reason ::)

Never been locked out, but have been locked in before in my old Ford Scorpio. The door locks threw a wobbly and the internal handle would just not move. Felt like a right pillock sitting outside my work place watching people go by who were too far to call. Fortunately had a sun roof which I leant out of and opened externally.

Had similar only yesterday whilst de-icing the Mega for Mrs Dave C, started the car to demist inside, whilst I was scraping the screen, I tried to close the drivers door, but, it had somehow dropped onto the first latch, so wouldn't close at all, just kept bouncing back, I operated the internal door catch which freed it.  So, Had the door have closed on that first catch it would have been jammed....  Sure it's the cold causing it....
