What this means is that all those losing jobs at the mo will have to wait 6 months before they become effectively employable, as (shortsighted) companies will now consider the long termers over the newly unemployed.

There is also the problem of the need for a job to be actually available to employ someone to do it!

As much as I hate this government, I have had agreat respect for Frank Field MP for some years now. He seams to be one of the few who talk sensibly and is straight with us lesser mortals.

If he says brown has it wrong, then I believe him.

Just to balane things up, I also have respect for Michael Portillo. I think a Field/Portillo partnership would be very interesting, and an asset to the country.

Will climb off soapbox now.

when most companies are struggling to employ the workforce they already have,where are the vacancies going to come from. :-/

have'nt you heard as he is the head fairy of the great british isles
he is going to sprinkle some of his fairy dust ([size=9]read bullsh@t[/size]) about and the jobs will magically appear apparantly :)
