Multicar Insurance...
« on: 15 January 2009, 13:04:53 »

Anyone have any experience with it??

Current broker who I'm with said they can mirror the NCD across to the new Estate for another policy, works out at £489.95.  So get the 3years NCD on both cars this way...  Total now for both stands at near £900 (2.5 Elite, 3.0 MV6 Estate)...  6 points to my name tho...

Admiral wanted something like £1400 in total for both cars on a multicar policy...  Few others didn't support it?

Reckon £900 is a fairly good price considering?  Modifications are covered at no extra cost, unless I fettle with the engine itself & take it past 230bhp on the MV6 and 190bhp on the Elite...  So can do suspension, bodywork, etc etc, at no extra cost to the policy (still need to declare with them however)

Guess it looks about right, i've got an Admiral multi car policey with a 2.5 CDX (facelift) and a 3ltr MV6 (mini-facelift) for just over £600.

HOWEVER the CDX is on limited millage (6k) social only

HOWEVER the MV6 is on full business use 20k business miles a year (unlimited 'SDP' miles).

HOWEVER i do have full no claims, BUT they are protected and i have no points.

Increase the excess a bit this 'could' reduce the costs a bit

After ringing round and told I could have a mirrored bonus on 2 cars I was let down.

Admiral came to the resue.

3.0 T Plate Elite  £220
2.5 GLS V Plate £250

Both cars are 99 models
Both Auto and petrol
Put 6000 for anual mileage but have only done 1000
Am 47
Full NCB
Cars are parked on main road overnight.
Only Elite has the alarm
All the legal and proctection cover plus hire car.

All companies wanted £350 to £500 for a single car

I got the pair for £470

Obviously made up of discounts and the one off payment saves the ins premium for monthly payments of an extra 8%

Am happy with them appart from the windscreen cover, it's the RAC for that.
