Credit where it's due
« on: 09 May 2009, 08:35:07 »

It's not often I post something like this but I've decided to on this occasion as it may help others.

As the title suggests, this week I encountered yet another example of that seemingly rare animal "a decent job, at a reasonable price, by somone who does know what they are doing"

This weeks credit has to go to Collins Radiators Ltd of Hilsea (Portsmouth).

I have used this company before, although only twice in 10 years.
Firts time around was just for a regas on a MKII Granada, second time around was because I needed a radiator for a Xantia.

Citroen themselves were talking £280 for a replacement, and even good old Camberley's were talking in excess of £100 for a refurb.
Collins Rads did the job (supplied, fitted, & system refilled) all in for £100 inc VAT.

Anyway, I digress.
As I was in Pompey this week I decided to drop in and get a price for a regas on the Omega. Not only did he do the job there & then, but it was £40 all in.
I didn't pay that myself as I agreed to fix his daughters PC for him, but if I had been paying then I would have said that was a pretty good price.

I was there for about 45 minutes or so (which included leak testing as well as regassing & dying), but it would have probably been done in about 30 minutes if we hadn't been chatting.

So for all you southern folks who have any cooling or air-con probs (they also do power steering), I would heartily recommend you give them a call.

Their details are:

Collins Radiators Ltd
Unit 26
Limberline Spur
Hilsea
Portsmouth
PO3 5DZ

Glad you're pleased with it, but the longer you vac the system for, the better the end result. Which is the only reason I only get my A/C regassed by people I know ;)
