Where can I print my photos in good quality?
« on: 28 March 2009, 08:02:55 »

I've tried few placed for photo printing and not happy about the quality. First it was cheap ASDA and photos were too red and too yellow. Then we went to Boots and photos look bit blurry, like printed from low quality file (highest quality was uploaded). I was also surprised to receive an e-mail after two hours of lacing an order, that our printouts were dispatched.
I just don't know where should I go to get a good quality photos. Can you advise any proper place where a specialist know how to set the machine to get a good quality, not just number of prints?
Thanks

Dont know if thats Kodak, but it is run by Boots. Quality is awfull, same as from ASDA and Jessops.
I will try advised places next time. Professional PhotoLabs are too expensive here - £1 per photo is bit over the top ;)

Photobox is good... My Brother-in-Law is a professional Wedding Photographer and sometimes uses Photobox. And they'll re-print if you complain to them :y :y :y

You could get yourself something similiar to this

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Kodak-EasyShare-Printer-dock-Plus-Digital-Photo-Printer_W0QQitemZ170327250465QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CamerasPhoto_Printers_Printers_JN?hash=item170327250465&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1690%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50

You dont need a kodak camera to be able to print...

I have a model similar to this one.....it uses special kodak paper and film. It runs the paper through the printer 4 times, applying one colour at a time, the 4th run through is to put a transparent film on the print to stop fading/etc.

Cost per print is about 25p, tho you can get that down to about 15p per print if you either buy the consumables in bulk or wait until amazon mess up their prices  ;D :y

Oh and the print quality is amazing on my printer, just like professional prints  :y

Thanks for the recomendation Nick but unfortunatly I wouldn't be able to do personal photo prints unless there was only a few, just take up too much time really. Don't mind the odd print small/large or signs like I did for Nick.  :y

We have used these folks a fair bit

http://www.snapfish.co.uk

SWTSMBO does a bit of "scrap-booking" and high quality pictures are a must. Results are good and so are the prices  :)
