Alcohol gets the tobacco treatment...

Here come the illiberals again. :(

This is really making me cross. I want to be free of governments and pressure groups - especially when they are one and the same.  >:( >:( >:( >:(

I agree wholeheartedly with the final paragraph, (taken from the Daily Mash). :y

It's all getting a bit out of hand.

I have been banging on since the smoking ban - which I oppose, despite being a non smoker - that the government will try to ban drinking.

All the warning signs were there, slowly the authorities have been trying to make drinking socially unacceptable, and this is another step

As for causing problems, drink is probably worse than smoking, this government has used the divide and rule method for many things and is now doing it with drink. We have had years of the news covering under age people drinking, and then the Police shows showing people drunk and being arrested late at night.

For anyone who has suffered form drink related crime/vandalism they will support this all the way.

This government has played a blinder with the people, we have been constantly misled, and they have appealed to the pious. The reality is they probably have far more support than we give them credit for.

It's a bit of a one sided argument but it sounds like a little scare tactics being used.

The government of mis-information.

Next they will be telling us that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction! Oh.

Has the government actually worked out how we will survive without the income generated by taxes on alcohol/tobacco?
