This is the original software that that I got with my Cheapo Tech-II, and so far it's the only one that works (well, sort of works that is).

Right .... having plugged in my Cheapo Tech II and read the fault codes, where is the reference list as to what the numbers mean? ;D I've got codes of PO500 & PO400 on my Dog Kennel Astra TD and have no idea now how to make sense of codes.

At least I now know though what's putting on the airbag light - it's a good job I dodn't sit in the passenger seat  :-[   ;)

If you have access to TIS, that is the definative source.  Failing that, the topbuzz website lists most common ones...

So armed with :-
0400 Exhaust gas circulation valve
0500 Idle speed stepper motor/idle air regulator
As it's a diseasal with the mega expensive fuel pump it doesn't have an idle speed stepper so it must be the EGR. Oh well more money!  :'(

Take it off and clean it with carb cleaner or even paint stripper

I've had a quick look at it. It's nothing like an Omega's EGR. It appears that it's operated using vacuum on a diaphragm via a solenoid of some description. I've just removed a whole load of BLACK oil from the vacuum lines and a trip to Tesco & back hasn't lit the EML yet I'll have another proper look tomorrow.
