the really drunk person let someone else drive and has been done for dangerous driving ?
as i understand it the key is in the name of the charge - dangerous driving - he was the passenger ??

Have been looking through the Road traffic Act 1988 but can't find anything specific that relates to this, although I haven't gone through the subsequent amendments.

Without having view of the judgement I can only suggest that Nicholls - the owner of the vehicle - was charged as a result of 'causing or permitting' in that he asked Brown to drive knowing she was drunk and having done so, didn't prevent her from driving at such high speeds.
