Garage Scheduling !
« on: 03 February 2010, 17:08:24 »

Why can't garages schedule their workload?
If a job is down for two hours, and they say to have it there for 08.00 then why is it not ready until 16.00? I know the answer is so that they can have cars waiting, but for customer convenience and service a little time management wouldn't go amiss. If it's a three hour job tell me when to deliver it, and I'll pick it up three hours later, unless I'm called to say otherwise.
Or am I expecting too much?

You think thats bad ???  Try having work done on a caravan !!!  even a couple of hours work is ALWAYS booked in for a week .. Saturday to Saturday .. and the workshop is closed on a Sat .. dispatch is open though .. how kind of them  :(

When the work is actually done they do call and tell you that you "can pick it up when ever you are ready" ..

No time management at all .. :(

Garages never know when thy might bo****ks something else up during a straightforward service and have to spend the rest of the day bodging the car back together.

The answer, of course, is to DIY. :y

I see it from both sides.....  The hours quoted do not always corrolate to the hours worked - some up, some down.  Its that varience that causes the frustration factor for customers.  Good garages/dealerships keep that to a minimum to ensure return customers....  :y
