I went to see two ex Yardbirds guitarists in concert together a couple of months ago.
Clapton and Jeff Beck at the o2.

They played quite a few gigs at a club in Catford very early 60s just after Clapton joined (63 I think) - used to go and see them regularly. Dusty Springfield quite often used to "hang" around with them as did Long John Baldry.

Those were the days - drove a "souped up" Ford E93A sit up & beg Popular then (Leather seats and optional extra heater/demister!!)

Was it a bit of a Gay Mecca then?
