Project Elite MOT
« on: 17 April 2007, 16:07:25 »

MOT on Thurs, must say I'm nervous!

Can't see anything obviously wrong, brakes are good.

There is a crack right over on the passenger side of the screen, by the tax disk... reason for failure?

exhaust is totally secure, but occasionally touches the body.. think I need to take it off and re-fit.

Tyres all have legal tread

All electrics tested and working, indicators show orange

wipers and washer work

seat belts all good

rear springs look ok on a visual inspection, shocks look near new

Am I worrying for nothing?

My car has a crack in the windscreen in the same place as you.  On my MOT, it was flagged as an advisory.  I would get it changed on the insurance, but I cannot find my certificate!

Looking at your list, have you checked the horn and lights, like the number plate and side repeaters (I am sure you have though as from your other threads and replies, I get the feeling that you are very thorough).

Hope that it passes - it certainly deserves to!

Good Luck

Handbrake is good?
You checked for play in front and rear wheels at 3-9 and 12-6 Oclock...?
Felt the rear springs at top and bottom to ensure they are fully intact
All bulbs good including the number plate one
All tyres acceptable tread depth, fitted with the correct rotational direction (where applicable) and/or inside/outside walls on right sides (would be a tyre fitter error the last one but, I have seen it).
All seat belts secure and retract
Fog light and full beam warning indicators light correctly
No wet on shocks
Brakes in a straight line...

etc

You dont NEED a certificate now, ring autoglass, they ask "can we check your insurance on the computer", you say "yes", they same "Come on down, £60 excess pls"
