just found out that an electrical fire on my car was caused by the previous owner who had used the live feed off the ashtray for different things   ie  he had wired an alarm for the tow bar electrics.... internal dash mounted fans.. etc. what a total **** head !!   got the car back yesterday after the insurance agreed to pay out and have been working on it now for 14 hrs and its starting to look decent again..

will see what i can sort out... thanks to everyone who has helped with advice , it takes the sting out of things.. i would like to give thanks to Megavaux breakers who not only sorted out a complete dash and plastics but also helped with the change over/fitting    brilliant service.
